China Investigates Airspace Violation into Japan

China has acknowledged and is investigating Japan's reports of the first confirmed incursion by a Chinese military aircraft into Japanese airspace. The incident involved a Y-9 reconnaissance plane that entered Japanese airspace near the Danjo Islands for approximately two minutes, prompting Japan to scramble fighter jets and lodge a formal protest. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian emphasized that China has no intention of intruding into other countries' airspace and maintained that both nations are in communication. Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi condemned the incursion as a serious violation of sovereignty and a threat to national security, describing it as 'utterly unacceptable.'
