Man kills mother in Escambia

Christopher Booth, a 44-year-old man from Pensacola, has been charged with second-degree murder after his mother, 70-year-old Audrey Booth, was found dead in his home with multiple stab wounds and at least one gunshot wound. The Escambia County Sheriff's Office received a tip from a friend out of state who claimed Booth admitted to the crime. Deputies discovered bullet holes in the home's windows upon arrival and found Booth inside, who allegedly stated he had killed his mother. Reports indicate that Booth initially attempted to deny his mother's presence at home but later admitted to the crime, claiming he shot her with an AR-15 and then stabbed her when she did not die. He is currently being held without bond at the Escambia County Jail. Further details regarding the motive for the murder have not yet been disclosed.
