Australia Names Squad for T20 World Cup

Australia has announced its 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup, with left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen notably missing from the selection. Chief selector Shawn Flegler highlighted the inclusion of young batter Phoebe Litchfield, who will make her World Cup debut, and the pace duo of Darcie Brown and Tayla Vlaeminck as key components of the squad. Jonassen, a veteran of 105 matches, misses the tournament for the first time since her debut in 2012, despite her strong performance in franchise cricket. Alyssa Healy will captain the team in the UAE tournament, which kicks off on October 3 against Sri Lanka. The squad, which is at full strength for the first time in years, will also compete in a three-match T20 series against New Zealand prior to the World Cup opener.
