Denzel Washington Hints at Acting Retirement
Denzel Washington has hinted at a potential retirement from acting, stating that there are 'very few films left for me to make that I’m interested in.' This comment was made while discussing his role in Ridley Scott's upcoming sequel, Gladiator II, which he was inspired to join due to his admiration for Scott's work. Washington, who plays Macrinus in the film, expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with Scott again, having previously worked together on American Gangster in 2007. Scott has described Gladiator II as 'the best thing I’ve ever made,' emphasizing its intense action. The sequel features Paul Mescal as Lucius, the son of Lucilla, and is scheduled for release on November 22, 2024. Though Washington has not confirmed retirement, he is focusing more on projects behind the camera.
