Essex Coroner Kidnap Plot Trial Details Emerge

In April 2023, an anti-establishment group known as the Federal Postal Court attempted to kidnap Essex senior coroner Lincoln Brookes, who was not present at the court by chance. The group, led by 58-year-old Mark Christopher, stormed Essex Coroner's Court in Chelmsford with the intent to 'arrest, detain, and take' Mr. Brookes, accusing him of 'detrimental necromancy' and other charges. The group, which rejects UK government authority, sent Brookes a series of bizarre and threatening letters and emails beforehand. Christopher and three followers—Matthew Martin, Shiza Harper, and Sean Harper—deny charges of conspiracy to kidnap and false imprisonment. During the trial, jurors were shown video footage of the group's courtroom invasion and heard testimonies about the distressing and alarming nature of their actions.
