President Murmu in Fiji

President Droupadi Murmu is on a three-nation tour, recently concluding her visit to Fiji, where she met with Fijian leaders and emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation. During her visit, she was honored with the Companion of the Order of Fiji award and addressed the Fijian Parliament, highlighting shared democratic values and India's commitment to supporting Fiji in global challenges like climate change. Murmu also engaged with the Indian diaspora in Fiji, expressing pride in their cultural preservation. Following her engagements in Fiji, she traveled to New Zealand, where she met with Governor General Dame Cindy Kiro and Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters, discussing educational exchanges and bilateral cooperation. Murmu highlighted the growing presence of Indian students in New Zealand, noting their significant contribution to international education. The tour aims to reinforce India's relationships with both Fiji and New Zealand, and she is set to visit Timor-Leste next.
