Anti-Ragging Week Observed Across Indian Universities

Various institutions across India observed 'Anti Ragging Week' from August 14 to 18, aiming to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of ragging among students and staff. At Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University, over 400 staff and 4000 students participated in activities such as debates and poster-making, culminating in a prize distribution ceremony attended by university officials. Similarly, Government College of Engineering & Technology in Jammu organized competitions and expert lectures, highlighting the legal aspects of ragging and encouraging a culture of respect. Himachal Pradesh University also emphasized the mental health impacts of ragging, featuring student discussions and poster displays. Additionally, Haryana colleges have introduced drop boxes for anonymous complaints regarding ragging, reinforcing a zero-tolerance policy. These collective efforts reflect a nationwide commitment to fostering safe educational environments.
