Dylan Raiola Named Nebraska's Starting Quarterback

Freshman Dylan Raiola has been named the starting quarterback for Nebraska's season opener against UTEP on August 31. Raiola, a five-star recruit and the top-rated pocket passer in the 2024 recruiting cycle, is the second true freshman ever to start a season opener for the Huskers. His appointment follows an impressive performance in Nebraska's spring game and consistent practice sessions throughout the summer. Raiola is the son of former Husker legend Dominic Raiola and the nephew of current offensive line coach Donovan Raiola. He initially committed to Georgia but later flipped his commitment to Nebraska. The Cornhuskers are hoping Raiola can help turn around their recent struggles and lead them back to a bowl game for the first time since 2016.
