Mahmudul Hasan Ruled Out of Pakistan Test Series

Bangladesh opener Mahmudul Hasan has been ruled out of the upcoming Test series against Pakistan due to a right groin injury sustained while fielding. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed that he will require at least three weeks to recover, and a replacement has yet to be announced. Mahmudul had been in excellent form, scoring 65 runs in the first innings of his last match against Pakistan Shaheens and contributing significantly with scores of 69 and 65 in previous fixtures. The first Test is scheduled to begin on August 21 in Rawalpindi, followed by the second Test in Karachi on August 30. The Bangladesh team had arrived in Pakistan early to acclimate to the conditions, although their preparations may be affected by political unrest in the country. BCB's chief physician Dr. Debashish Chowdhury stated that a report from the team's physiotherapist is awaited before naming a replacement.
