Rain in Uttarakhand

Severe weather in Uttarakhand has resulted in multiple tragedies, including the deaths of at least eight individuals due to cloudbursts and house collapses caused by heavy rain. Notably, in the Tehri district, two people were confirmed dead after a cloudburst at Jakhanyali, while another house collapse in Haridwar killed three people, including two children. The incessant rainfall has led to significant flooding, particularly on the Gaurikund-Kedarnath route, prompting evacuations and halting the Chardham Yatra. Rescue operations are ongoing, with teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) deployed to assist affected areas. Authorities have issued alerts for further heavy rainfall and have advised residents to stay cautious as they monitor the situation. The Chief Minister is actively overseeing disaster management efforts in the region.
