Mumtaz Reflects on Bond with Rajesh Khanna

Veteran actress Mumtaz recently reflected on her iconic pairing with Rajesh Khanna, revealing that he would often get upset when she worked with other male actors like Dharmendra and Dev Anand, expressing a possessive affection towards her. In an interview with Rediff, she emphasized that despite his feelings, she never sulked when he worked with other heroines, indicating a mutual respect. Mumtaz also addressed comparisons to Sharmila Tagore, clarifying that there was no rivalry between them and praising Tagore's sophistication. She noted that all her films with Khanna were successful, contrasting her box office record with Tagore's flops alongside Khanna. The duo starred in several hits during the 60s and 70s, including notable songs that remain celebrated today. Khanna, who is remembered as the first superstar of Hindi cinema, passed away in 2012.
