MLB Teams Execute Multiple Trades Before Deadline
Several significant trades were executed just before the MLB trade deadline. The Pirates made multiple moves, including acquiring superutility player Isiah Kiner-Falefa from the Blue Jays for outfield prospect Charles McAdoo, corner outfielder Bryan De La Cruz from the Marlins in exchange for Jun-Seok Shim, and left-handed reliever Jalen Beeks from the Rockies for Double-A prospect Luis Peralta. The Yankees bolstered their bullpen by acquiring right-handed reliever Mark Leiter Jr. from the Cubs, sending prospects Jack Neely and Ben Cowles to Chicago. The Mets acquired right-handed reliever Huascar Brazoban from the Marlins, sending infielder Wilfredo Lara to Miami. The Astros also strengthened their bullpen by obtaining Caleb Ferguson from the Yankees.
