Mark Ross Charged with Murdering Delivery Driver

Mark Ross, 32, has been charged with the murder of Claudiu-Carol Kondor, a 42-year-old delivery driver who died while attempting to prevent his van from being stolen in Leeds on August 20. Ross appeared via video link in court but did not enter a plea; his trial is scheduled to begin on March 4, 2024, and is expected to last seven days. Police reported that Kondor was found unconscious after being partially dragged as the thief sped away, and despite emergency treatment, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Ross remains in custody with a plea and trial preparation hearing set for September 20. Additional arrests were made in connection with the case, including a 24-year-old man released on bail and a woman under investigation for assisting an offender.
