Five labourers, including two brothers, were killed when the roof of an under-construction cottage at a resort in Choral village, near Indore, collapsed on Thursday night. The victims had taken shelter in the structure due to heavy rain. The incident was discovered on Friday morning, prompting a rescue operation that recovered all five bodies. The roof slab had been laid just two days prior, and its collapse is being attributed to the rain weakening the structure. Police have registered a case for causing death by negligence and are searching for the resort's owners, Kanhaiya Lal and Bharat Demla. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced financial assistance of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased.
