Shooting in Joliet

Joliet has been experiencing a surge in gun violence, with multiple incidents reported over the past week. Most recently, a shooting on Saturday night at the 1000 block of Woodruff Road resulted in one man being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the shoulder and grazed in the head. The gunfire struck two occupied homes and an unoccupied vehicle, with one round narrowly missing a woman who was sleeping in her bed. In a separate incident early Sunday morning, gunfire damaged several vehicles and residences but resulted in no injuries. The Joliet Police Department is actively investigating both shootings and is seeking public assistance for leads.
