Independence Day Medals for Police and Military

On Independence Day 2024, various police officers across India were honored with prestigious medals for their distinguished and meritorious service. Vikas Kumar Arora, Police Commissioner of Gurugram, received the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, while 12 other Haryana Police officers were awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar of Punjab Police's Anti-Gangster Task Force received his fifth President's Gallantry Medal for neutralizing gangster Tejinder Singh. Six Special Task Force members who eliminated gangster Atiq Ahmed's son, Asad Ahmed, were also awarded the President's Gallantry Medal. Additionally, Colonel Manpreet Singh and DSP Humayun Muzzammil Bhat were posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra for their bravery during an encounter in J&K. These recognitions highlight the exceptional courage and dedication of India's law enforcement and armed forces.
