Series of Fatal Crashes Across the U.S. Weekend

A series of fatal crashes occurred across the United States over the weekend. In Cerritos, California, two people died and at least two others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision involving two pickup trucks and a big rig on the 91 Freeway. Separately, in Lake and Volusia counties, Florida, two people were killed in distinct crashes; one involved a woman who failed to negotiate a curve on Florida’s Turnpike, and another where a head-on collision led to a vehicle fire. In West Covina, California, a crash on the 10 Freeway resulted in the death of a man and moderate injuries to a woman, leading to temporary freeway closures. In Texas, a two-vehicle crash on I-10 in Harris County resulted in one person being ejected from a vehicle and the freeway being shut down temporarily. Authorities are continuing investigations into the causes of these accidents.
