Rob Page has been dismissed as the head coach of the Wales national football team after nearly four years in charge. Despite leading Wales to their first World Cup in 64 years and a successful Euro 2020 campaign, recent poor performances, including a failure to qualify for Euro 2024 and disappointing friendly results, led to his sacking. The final straw was a 0-0 draw with Gibraltar and a 4-0 loss to Slovakia. Page initially took over as interim coach in November 2020 before being made permanent in September 2022.
