Jaishankar Urges Global Action Against Terrorism

During the 31st ASEAN Regional Forum in Vientiane, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar called for a robust international approach to combat terrorism and dismantle terror financing networks. He emphasized the need for global cooperation in addressing issues like cybercrime and highlighted India's unwavering support for ASEAN unity and the ASEAN outlook in the Indo-Pacific. Jaishankar pointed out that challenges such as COVID-19, conflict, and climate change require cooperative solutions across economic, political, and technological sectors. He reiterated the importance of maritime safety and security, as well as the peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with international law. Furthermore, he noted that the Quad partnership complements ASEAN mechanisms in promoting stability and prosperity in the region. His remarks underline India's commitment to engaging in international efforts to secure the global commons and enhance regional cooperation.
