IMD warns of rain
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued several weather alerts for heavy rainfall across multiple regions in India, including a red alert for Kerala due to significant rainfall that has caused landslides, claiming over 150 lives. In Andhra Pradesh, thunderstorms and moderate rainfall are expected from August 1 to 5, with winds possibly reaching 40 km/h. Additionally, an orange alert for heavy rain has been declared in parts of Punjab and Haryana, with isolated very heavy rainfall anticipated on August 2. Odisha is also bracing for heavy rainfall on August 1 and 2, with warnings of potential flooding in low-lying areas. The IMD emphasized the need for preparedness and timely action as extreme weather conditions persist across the country. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, urging residents to stay informed and take precautions against possible natural calamities.
