Oklahoma State Football Adds QR Codes for NIL
Oklahoma State University is introducing QR codes on football helmets to allow fans to donate to the team's name, image, and likeness (NIL) fund, a first in college football. These 1.5-inch decals will be visible to viewers at home during broadcasts and on social media, directing them to a nonprofit collective called 'Pokes With A Purpose' (PWAP). PWAP funds will be distributed to players through various charitable activities and promotional events, helping lesser-known athletes benefit from NIL opportunities. Coach Mike Gundy praised this initiative as a revolutionary step to keep the program competitive. The QR codes will also appear on player bags, stadium signage, and coasters in premium sections. The Cowboys will debut this innovation in their season opener against South Dakota State on August 31.
