Peacock's Gold Zone Returns for Paralympics
Peacock's 'Gold Zone' feature, which garnered significant viewership during the Paris Olympics, will return for the upcoming Paralympic Games starting August 29, and is also confirmed for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The Gold Zone offers a unique, NFL RedZone-style coverage of Olympic events, highlighting key moments and allowing viewers to follow multiple competitions simultaneously. Hosted by Carolyn Manno, the coverage will run daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET during the Paralympics, contributing to over 1,500 hours of live streaming planned for the event. NBC executives believe the combination of Gold Zone and new multi-view functionalities will enhance viewer engagement and experience. Molly Solomon, NBC Olympics' president, indicated that they are also re-evaluating the coverage format for the 2026 Winter Olympics. The success of Gold Zone during the Paris Games has set a new standard for Olympic coverage and will influence future presentations.
