Nine-year-old Shreyovi Mehta from Faridabad has been named the runner-up in the '10 Years and Under' category of the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, organized by the Natural History Museum (NHM) in London. Her award-winning photograph, titled "In the Spotlight," features two peahens silhouetted under a canopy of trees at Keoladev National Park in Bharatpur, India, and was selected from nearly 60,000 entries worldwide. Expressing her joy, Mehta stated that she aims to continue practicing wildlife photography, aspiring to have India's national animal, the tiger, recognized similarly. The awards ceremony will take place on October 8, and the exhibition will open at the NHM on October 11, running until June 29, 2025. Shreyovi credited her success to her supportive parents and encouraged other young girls to pursue their dreams. This achievement highlights the potential of young talent in wildlife photography and brings pride to India.
