Selangor Civil Servants to Receive Salary Increase
In Selangor, over 21,000 civil servants are set to receive a salary increase, contingent on an announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim scheduled for August 16, prior to the 2025 Budget presentation. Selangor's Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, indicated that the state will adhere to the federal government's guidelines for the salary increments and is prepared to implement the increases based on its financial reserves. The Prime Minister had previously announced a historic salary adjustment for civil servants on May 1, which included an increase of over 13 percent, the largest in the country's history since a similar hike in 2013. The Public Service Department will provide a calculation service for civil servants to determine their new salary rates after the announcement. This adjustment also affects pensioners, as their benefits will be updated in accordance with the salary increases for active civil servants.
