Danny White's Contract Extended at Tennessee
The University of Tennessee has extended Athletic Director Danny White's contract until 2030, increasing his annual salary to $2.75 million, making him the highest-paid athletic director in the SEC and at a public university in the U.S. Chancellor Donde Plowman praised White for his leadership and the remarkable success of Tennessee Athletics, which included sending every team to the postseason for the first time in history and winning the SEC All-Sports Trophy for the third consecutive year. Under White, the university also achieved its best academic performance in athletics and secured a national championship in baseball. White has been instrumental in raising $559 million for athletic improvements, surpassing his own fundraising goal. His new contract reflects the positive momentum he has built since joining UT in 2021, including critical hires and facility renovations. The extension follows a year of unprecedented achievements for Tennessee's athletic programs.
