'House of the Dragon' season finale
Ryan Condal, the showrunner of House of the Dragon, announced that the series will consist of four seasons, with the third currently being written and production slated to begin in early 2025. This announcement comes after fan disappointment with the second season finale, which many felt lacked the anticipated action, especially regarding the rivalry between the Greens and Blacks. Critics have expressed concerns over the portrayal of the female leads, Alicent and Rhaenyra, feeling their agency has been diminished in the recent season. Despite mixed reviews, HBO has praised the efforts of the cast and crew, indicating a commitment to continuing the story of House Targaryen. The upcoming seasons are expected to maintain the dramatic storytelling established in the first two seasons. Additionally, a new Game of Thrones prequel series titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is also in development.
