The wreckage of a Cambodian military helicopter, missing since July 12, was discovered atop a mountaintop in the Cardamom Mountains on Monday. The Chinese-made Z-9 helicopter lost contact during a training flight in poor weather, prompting an extensive search effort that began a day later. Recovery personnel identified the body of one pilot within the wreckage, while another body was found approximately 200 meters away, although this has not been officially confirmed by the Defense Ministry. Due to dense forest and adverse weather conditions, accessing the crash site has proven challenging. A widely circulated photo on social media shows the fragmented helicopter, but its authenticity remains unverified. This incident recalls a similar 2014 crash involving another Z-9 helicopter that resulted in four fatalities near Phnom Penh.
