Fatal Plane Crash in Niagara County
A small plane crash in Niagara County, New York, resulted in the death of the pilot, who was the sole occupant. The single-engine Cessna 208B, operated by Skydive the Falls, had released all skydivers before crashing near Lake Road and the Niagara Scenic Parkway, just before noon on Saturday. The crash also initiated a brush fire that was extinguished by emergency responders. Local and federal authorities, including the FAA and NTSB, are investigating the incident, focusing on the pilot, aircraft, and operating environment. The pilot's identity has not been released pending family notification. Investigators will secure the crash site before moving the wreckage to a facility for further evaluation.
