Jim Harbaugh Predicts JJ McCarthy as Top Pick in 2024 NFL Draft

Jim Harbaugh, the newly appointed head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, has predicted that his former quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, will be the first quarterback selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Harbaugh appeared on The Herd with Colin Cowherd and praised McCarthy for his "arm talent, athleticism, 'it' factor, winning with numbing repetition," before stating his prediction that "when he's the No. 1 quarterback off the board," people will be surprised. However, most draft experts currently have McCarthy as the fourth or fifth-best quarterback available, with USC's Caleb Williams, North Carolina's Drake Maye and LSU's Jayden Daniels ahead of him. Nevertheless, Harbaugh has faith that "when people get a load of J.J. and how he can throw the ball, how he spins it, his athleticism, his intelligence…", predicting that McCarthy will ultimately be the first quarterback selected next year.
