The unrest follows protests over a job quota system, which led to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation and subsequent exile in India. BHU's decision aims to support students who would otherwise be required to vacate their accommodations post-graduation. Prof. SVS Raju, coordinator of the International Centre, emphasized the university's commitment to assisting these students during their uncertain circumstances.
