Arrest Made in Deadly Miami Hit-and-Run Crash

Gilber Caro, 50, was arrested for leaving the scene of a deadly hit-and-run crash in Miami. Around 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Caro's Chevrolet Tahoe was struck by a Hyundai Sonata that ran a red light, causing a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of SW Eighth Street and SW 42nd Avenue. The 29-year-old driver of the Sonata was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman in another vehicle was hospitalized in stable condition. Caro fled on foot but was apprehended later in the morning. The crash led to significant damage, with debris scattered across a Walgreens parking lot. The investigation has been handed over to the City of Miami Police's Traffic Homicide Unit.
