In Uttar Pradesh, two separate incidents involving the kidnapping and rape of young girls have been reported. A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by 19-year-old Mukesh Rajbhar, who was arrested following the victim's report to her family and the police. The incident occurred in Ballia and led to an FIR being registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act. Separately, a 14-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped while waiting for her school bus in Gorakhpur; the perpetrator, Jain Sheikh, threatened her with a gun and drugged her before the assault. Both cases highlight ongoing concerns regarding the safety of minors in the region. Police have taken swift action in both instances, arresting the accused individuals shortly after the incidents.
