Udaipur Student Dies, Communal Tensions Rise

A 15-year-old student named Devraj, who was stabbed by a classmate in Udaipur, died on Monday after battling for his life for several days. The incident, which occurred outside their school due to an old enmity, has led to heightened communal tensions and protests in the city, with right-wing groups setting vehicles on fire and vandalizing shops. In response, authorities have suspended mobile internet services, closed all schools, and imposed prohibitory orders to prevent public gatherings. The district administration also demolished the house of the accused's family, claiming it was built on forest land. Additional police forces have been deployed to maintain peace and order. The Congress party has called for financial assistance and government jobs for the victim's family, while a fact-finding committee has been constituted to investigate the incident.
