Noah Lyles Wins Olympic 100m Gold
American sprinter Noah Lyles won the Olympic men's 100m final by the narrowest of margins, clocking a personal best of 9.79 seconds, just five-thousandths of a second ahead of Jamaica's Kishane Thompson. Lyles' victory marks the first American gold in this event since 2004. Despite trailing for most of the race, Lyles surged ahead in the final moments to secure the win. Fred Kerley of the United States took bronze with a time of 9.81 seconds. Lyles, known for his showmanship, celebrated exuberantly, declaring himself the fastest man in the world. His victory is part of his broader goal to win multiple gold medals at the Paris Olympics.
