Kerala Announces New Township for Landslide Survivors

Following the devastating landslides in Wayanad, various organizations and individuals have pledged significant support for relief and rehabilitation efforts. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) each donated ₹1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). Kerala's government has announced plans for a comprehensive rehabilitation package, including the construction of a new township in a safer area to resettle displaced families. The opposition UDF has also pledged support, with its MLAs contributing one month's salary to the CMDRF. Additionally, the Akshaya Patra Foundation has been distributing grocery kits to affected families. Rescue operations continue, with efforts focusing on mental health support for survivors.
