INS Mumbai Arrives in Colombo for Visit
The Indian Navy's warship INS Mumbai will arrive in Colombo on August 26, 2024, for a three-day visit, marking its first port call in Sri Lanka and the eighth by Indian naval ships this year. The Sri Lanka Navy will ceremonially receive the destroyer, which recently completed a mid-life upgrade. During its stay, INS Mumbai will deliver essential spare parts for the Sri Lanka Air Force's Dornier maritime patrol aircraft, enhancing its surveillance and search and rescue capabilities. The visit will include a familiarization tour for Sri Lanka Navy personnel, along with joint activities such as sports events and yoga sessions. The ship's Commanding Officer is also expected to meet with Sri Lankan naval leaders. INS Mumbai is scheduled to depart on August 29, 2024.
