Meanwhile, in Myrtle Beach, a 37-year-old man named Grace Mendonda drowned in a motel pool at the Twilight Surf Motel and was pronounced dead at South Strand Medical Center shortly after being rescued by bystanders. This marks the sixth drowning in the Myrtle Beach area this summer, with the previous incidents involving children.
