Collegiate Athletes Prepare for Paris Olympics

A total of 24 members from the University of Limerick (UL), including nine athletes, graduates, and support staff, will participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, representing Ireland, Canada, and Australia. Notable athletes include Thomas Barr, Sharlene Mawdsley, and Sinead Diver. In India, nine students from Delhi University will represent the country at the Olympics, with significant participation from women in shooting and table tennis. Young athletes are also making headlines, with skateboarder Zheng being the youngest competitor at nearly 12 years old, alongside other promising talents like 14-year-old Dhinidhi Desinghu in swimming. Queen's University in Belfast is also set to support a record number of students, with three current and six former students competing. The Games are anticipated to showcase over 11,230 athletes from 206 nations, highlighting unprecedented participation from Ireland and other countries.
