Brandon Aiyuk has resolved his long-standing contract dispute with the San Francisco 49ers by agreeing to a four-year, $120 million extension, including $76 million guaranteed. The agreement came after Aiyuk missed two consecutive practices despite being cleared by team doctors, during which he participated in a contract 'hold in' due to a reported back injury. Earlier this summer, Aiyuk had sought a trade, but no team was willing to meet the 49ers' demands or the receiver's salary expectations. The deal was finalized just 11 days before the season opener against the New York Jets, leaving only All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams as the team's remaining holdout. Aiyuk's new contract positions him amongst the highest-paid receivers in the league, following a successful season where he recorded 75 catches for a career-high 1,375 yards and seven touchdowns. The resolution comes as the league sees a trend of significant contracts for top receivers, with Aiyuk being the sixth to achieve an average annual contract exceeding $30 million this offseason.
