SC Denies Interim Bail to Kejriwal in Excise Scam

The Supreme Court has refused to grant interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the corruption case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. Despite concerns raised by senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi about Kejriwal's health and previous bail grants in related cases, the bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan insisted on a detailed response from the CBI before making further decisions. This decision follows the Delhi High Court's earlier ruling that upheld Kejriwal's arrest as lawful, citing potential influence over witnesses. Kejriwal's petitions challenging his arrest and seeking bail will be heard on August 23. The denial of interim bail comes after former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was granted bail in a related case.
