Twelve Injured Jumping from Train in Panic
A false fire alarm in the general coach of the Howrah-Amritsar Mail near Bilpur, Uttar Pradesh, led to panic among passengers, resulting in at least twelve individuals sustaining injuries as they jumped from the moving train. The panic was triggered by smoke from a fire extinguisher, which some passengers or miscreants may have operated. In a similar incident, seven passengers of the Punjab Mail suffered injuries after leaping from the train due to smoke from an onboard fire extinguisher. Railway authorities, including the Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police, are investigating both incidents to prevent future occurrences. The injured passengers were taken to hospitals, and the trains experienced delays due to the disruptions.
