Fire Damages Boulder Storage Facility Units

An early Monday morning fire at the Extra Space Storage facility in Boulder severely damaged 12 to 14 storage units and impacted 88 others with smoke and suppression damage. The blaze, which began around 1 a.m. at the 5800 block of Arapahoe Road, required nine hours to be fully extinguished by a crew of 45 firefighters. Several fire departments assisted Boulder Fire-Rescue in controlling the second-alarm fire. Arapahoe Road was closed for several hours but reopened by 7 a.m. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Boulder Fire-Rescue shared updates and images of the damage on social media, thanking the assisting departments for their support.
