VVS Laxman Extends Tenure as NCA Head

VVS Laxman will extend his tenure as the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for at least another year, following initial reports suggesting he would not continue after his contract expired in September 2024. His continued leadership coincides with the imminent inauguration of a state-of-the-art NCA facility in Bengaluru, which boasts over 100 pitches, three international-sized grounds, and extensive training amenities. Despite interest from IPL franchises, including the Lucknow Super Giants, Laxman has decided to prioritize his role at the NCA, where he will be supported by a strong coaching team. The new NCA facility is expected to be operational early next year and aims to cater not only to cricketers but also to other athletes. Laxman has played a crucial role in enhancing injury management and coaching programs during his time at the NCA. One of his upcoming challenges will be the revival of the India A tours, which have faced disruptions in recent years.
