Eight prominent business leaders have been appointed to the Alabama Growth Alliance to support the state's new economic development plan. Additionally, the Alabama Workforce Council and State Workforce Development Board have been merged to form the Alabama Workforce Board, with Jeff Peoples of Alabama Power and Phil Webb of Webb Concrete appointed as chairs. This restructuring is part of the Alabama Workforce Transformation Act, which aims to streamline workforce development and improve the state's labor participation rate.
