Man Arrested in Tacoma Woman's Death

Pierce County prosecutors have charged Anthony Marcel Millspaugh, a 40-year-old man, with first-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter in the death of 18-year-old Chloee Moore, whose body was found in a suitcase after being set on fire on September 3, 2023. Millspaugh, who has a previous murder conviction, was arrested based on phone records, text messages, and video surveillance showing him dragging the suitcase while accompanied by his nephew. Moore, described as a vibrant dental hygienist student, was believed to have been intentionally doused with an accelerant before being set ablaze. The case has garnered attention due to the nature of the crime and the lengthy investigation, which lasted nearly a year. A plea of not guilty was entered on Millspaugh's behalf, with bail set at $2 million. As the investigation continues, the Tacoma Police Department is working to gather further evidence.
