Mob attacks Bangladeshis

Recent incidents in India have highlighted tensions surrounding Bengali-speaking individuals amid political unrest in Bangladesh. In Odisha, Bengali-speaking workers were assaulted by local vigilante groups, accused of being illegal immigrants, prompting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to seek intervention from Odisha's government. Concurrently, the Border Security Force apprehended 11 Bangladeshi nationals attempting to infiltrate into India, as security along the India-Bangladesh border has been heightened following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government. Additionally, in Ghaziabad and Delhi, mobs attacked Muslim slum dwellers, falsely branding them as Bangladeshis, leading to widespread outrage and police investigations. These incidents reflect growing fears of illegal immigration and rising communal tensions, further complicating the situation for vulnerable communities in the region.
