Bar chain to close 25 venues

Revolution Bars Group is set to close 11 locations today and an additional 25 venues following High Court approval for its restructuring plan, a necessary move to avoid potential insolvency amid ongoing challenges from the cost-of-living crisis. The closures come as the chain aims to cut down from 89 sites to 65, which will include 27 Revolution Bars, 15 Revolucion de Cuba bars, 22 Peach Pubs, and one Founders & Co site. Executive Rob Pitcher expressed optimism for the future, citing a more diversified and secure financial base. Recent trading has been impacted by the uncertainty surrounding the restructuring process, but the company met its target of £3 million in earnings by the end of June. The hospitality sector continues to suffer from rising costs and changing consumer habits, affecting multiple chains across the UK. Revolution's plight reflects broader struggles within the industry, with other brands like Wetherspoons also facing closures.
