Teachers Arrested for Assaulting Students in India

In Tamil Nadu's Nagercoil, an art teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya School has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act for allegedly assaulting an eighth-grade girl, following an internal enquiry and complaint by the headmaster. Meanwhile, in Pune, a 35-year-old teacher has been arrested for stalking and sexually harassing a 14-year-old ninth-grade student over the past month. The girl's mother filed an FIR after the student reported recurring harassment. In another incident near Pune, a 67-year-old man was arrested for raping a 10-year-old girl, following a group counseling session where the victim disclosed the assault. These cases highlight ongoing concerns about child safety in schools and the need for effective reporting and intervention mechanisms.
