Canadian Police Warn Sikh Separatist Aide

Canadian police have issued a 'duty to warn' notice to Inderjeet Singh Gosal, an aide to assassinated Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, due to increased threats against his life. The warning follows Nijjar's murder in June 2023, which Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has linked to possible Indian government involvement, a claim that India vehemently denies. Following the assassination, four individuals have been charged, while the FBI investigates a related drive-by shooting targeting a California activist associated with Nijjar. Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a prominent Sikh separatist, confirmed the warning and expressed his dedication to Punjab's liberation despite the threats. The situation has heightened tensions between Canada and India, with accusations from New Delhi of Canada harboring Sikh separatists aiming to establish Khalistan. Both the RCMP and Ontario police have not commented on the matter, and the Canadian Public Safety Minister's office has also refrained from providing statements.
