The inquiry began after it was revealed that the charity was soliciting funds through posts on Telegram channels associated with Gaza Now, which has been sanctioned by the UK government due to suspected terrorism involvement. Initial engagements with the charity's trustees raised further concerns about its management and governance, prompting the inquiry to seek clarity on any potential financial ties between World Aid Convoy and Gaza Now. The regulator emphasized that any association with terrorism or extremism undermines public trust in the charity sector. A separate inquiry was also initiated regarding Aozma Sultana, a business owner linked to Gaza Now, suspected of misappropriating funds meant for humanitarian aid. The findings of the inquiry will be made public upon its conclusion.
